Dreaming in Technicolor: The Artful Awakening of Lifestyle Developments

Dreaming in Technicolor: The Artful Awakening of Lifestyle Developments

Cookie-cutter communities, make way for a new breed of living artwork! As blank-canvas neighbourhoods undergo a creative renaissance across South East Asia, we are the artistic visionaries paintbrush-poised to transform sterile streets into vibrant cultural kaleidoscopes. Let CREATOR’S call it the artful awakening of real estate by dreaming in technicolor: The Artful Awakening of Lifestyle Developments.

Forget Monotone, Let’s Think Technicolor

Why coat communities in mundane shades of gray when we can adorn them in dazzling hues? The time has come to dissolve the monotony of design-by-numbers developments devoid of character. No more photocopy plazas and big-box buildings crowding charmless blocks. We must infuse wonder and life back into these neglected neighborhoods!

This is a clarion call to disrupt banality through the imagination’s unrestrained power. The citizens of cookie-cutter communities crave more color, more passion, more purpose. By converging creative talents, can we not elevate baseline living into a transcendent work of art?

The Foundations Have Been Laid, Now Comes the Artistic Vision

Of course, the core foundations still matter – thoughtfully planned infrastructure, green spaces, transportation and real estate. But these are mere blank canvases awaiting the stroke of inspiration.

Let us build upon the basics not with more monotony, but with audacity! Wild, wonderful designs…ethereal elevated parks…music floating on the breeze…light choreographies dancing across buildings. Through art, we can create cultural connections and manifest new realities once only dreamed.

Co-Creating Bespoke Community Masterpieces

How will we paint the future in vivid color? Let us co-create alongside the local tastes, traditions, and artistic heritage unique to each South East Asian community.

In Bali, Indonesia, let us reflect the natural beauty through lush biophilic designs that feel uniquely of this place, not some cookie-cutter complex. In Thailand, integrate ornate details inspired by gilded temples. Across Philippines, celebrate artisan crafts of each island with tailored programs.

By complementing the existing foundation with bespoke artistic elements, we can craft community experiences as diverse as our imaginations. The real estate may provide the framework, but art provides the soul.

Designing Havens for Connection, Not Just Houses

Our goal is not to just construct buildings – but to construct bonds. Through shared passions for arts, culture, sustainability, and creativity we can facilitate understanding between people. Then regulate neighborhoods may transform into interconnected neighborhoods with purpose.

Right now neighbors remain strangers, but united by common interests we can build community. Seek not just to develop real estate, but to develop relationships. With visionary design, let our neighborhoods become the fairgrounds for culture to thrive!

The Time is Now

The paper and blueprints are ready – let CREATOR’S create! My fellow architects, designers, artists, dreamers – let us pick up our proverbial paintbrushes. The world awaits our South East Asian community masterpieces. With bright colors, let us paint a future that inspires. The potential is limited only by the bounds of our imagination. Let the artful awakening begin!

Why settle for ordinary when you can journey with CREATOR’S extraordinary team? Our experience, our innovation, and our trail of triumphant projects speak for themselves. Whether it’s an opulent hotel or a tranquil resort, we’re here to create your vision, to make dreams tangible, and to turn your property development endeavours into timeless tales of accomplishment.

Does a community built around shared passions appeal to you? Tell us your lifestyle priorities below!

Thank you, Bert Bykes @Contact

Bambu Indah Bali: Great Resort Concept

Bambu Indah Bali: Great Resort Concept

Bambu Indah Bali is a great looking eco-friendly concept nestled minutes downriver from Ubud’s most decadent resorts, its riverfront compound looks out at the stunning cascades of the Ayung River, rice fields, a Hindu temple called Pura Dalem Gede Bongkasa and, beyond, the multiple volcanic ridges surrounding Mount Batu Kau. Neighbouring villages offer exquisite artistry such as weaving, wood-carving, silver making, shadow puppets and village crafts that have crossed generations.

Enjoy their unique experiences, and let the child in you play with the musical strings of our minang harp, installed by visiting sound architect, Rudiger Schodel. Sounds of our strings resonate across our resort, harmonizing with the sounds of nature. Explore or indulge, and experience the magic of sound and vibration therapy at your fingertips.

It has a team of gardeners, who are led by permaculture experts, plant and harvest traditional Balinese rice, organic vegetables, herbs and flowers throughout the property. The produce is allowed to ripen on the vine and harvested daily for use in the restaurant and in traditional offerings to the Gods.

To ensure a healthy garden, they use natural fertilizers including compost made from our organic waste. Composting diverts waste from landfills and helps eliminate the need for chemical fertilisers often used in commercial farms.

Some Great Inspiration Shots Here!

Typical View

Eco-luxe: Stone paths lead from the bamboo-encased reception area through rice paddies at various stages of growth and past a soaring black bamboo multipurpose structure reminiscent of an ancient ship.

Typical Villa Entrance

The resort’s natural swimming pool is virtually indistinguishable from an indigenous pond, thanks to a recyclable black rubber membrane and tiny river fish. However more pampered campers with aversions to mud or mosquitoes should bunk elsewhere.

Bauhaus-Inspired Hotels, Resorts & Residences: Design Inspirations

Bauhaus-Inspired Hotels, Resorts & Residences: Design Inspirations

Hello, design lovers! Welcome to another edition of Design Inspirations, where I share with you some of the most amazing and innovative projects that I have discovered recently. Today, I want to talk about a style that has influenced many modern designers and architects: Bauhaus-Inspired Hotels, Resorts & Residences!

The Bauhaus movement, founded in 1919 by architect Walter Gropius, revolutionized design and architecture, leaving an indelible mark on the creative world. Characterized by clean lines, functional aesthetics, and a focus on the marriage of form and function, the Bauhaus style continues to inspire designers and architects to this day. In this article, we will explore a selection of hotels, resorts, and residences around the world that embrace the timeless principles of Bauhaus design. Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast, an interior design aficionado, or simply seeking inspiration for your own home, these exceptional examples of Bauhaus-inspired spaces will undoubtedly captivate your imagination.

Geometric shapes, minimal ornamentation, and bold colours characterize the Bauhaus style. It has inspired many iconic works of architecture and design, such as the Barcelona Chair by Mies van der Rohe, the Wassily Chair by Marcel Breuer, and the Bauhaus Dessau building by Walter Gropius.

But Bauhaus is not just a thing of the past. It is still relevant and influential today, especially in the hospitality industry. Many hotels, resorts, and residences have adopted the Bauhaus style to create spaces that are modern, comfortable, and stylish. When you step into a Bauhaus-inspired hotel, resort, or residence, you are greeted by a sense of simplicity and order. The spaces are designed to be efficient and practical, yet they also exude a sense of elegance and sophistication. The furniture and fixtures are carefully selected to serve their purpose while enhancing the overall aesthetic. Here are some examples that I absolutely love:

The Bauhaus Hotel in Aberdeen, Scotland. This hotel features a sleek black-and-white exterior that contrasts with the colourful interiors. The rooms are spacious and bright, with geometric patterns and furniture that evoke the Bauhaus aesthetic.

Bauhaus Hotel Aberdeen via Agoda

The Bauhaus Residences in Miami Beach, Florida. These residences are part of a luxury condominium complex that was designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. The residences have a futuristic look that incorporates curves and angles. The interiors are spacious and elegant, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Bauhaus Residences Miami via Deutsches Architekturforum

The Bauhaus Hotel, Dessau, Germany: Located in the birthplace of the Bauhaus movement, The Bauhaus Hotel in Dessau, Germany, pays homage to the design principles that shaped the movement. Designed by architect Georg Muche in 1926, the hotel features clean geometric lines, functional furniture, and a minimalist aesthetic. With its white facade and large windows, the hotel exemplifies the Bauhaus ethos of maximizing natural light and creating a sense of openness.

Tel Aviv Bauhaus: White City, Tel Aviv, Israel: Tel Aviv’s White City boasts the largest collection of Bauhaus buildings in the world, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Constructed mainly in the 1930s by German Jewish architects who immigrated to Israel, these buildings feature the characteristic white facades, flat roofs, and horizontal window bands that define the Bauhaus style. Many of these structures have been converted into boutique hotels and residences, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the timeless elegance of Bauhaus design.

Bauhaus Museum via Lonely Planet

Bauhaus-Archiv Museum, Berlin, Germany: While not a hotel or residence, the Bauhaus-Archiv Museum in Berlin is an iconic example of Bauhaus architecture. Designed by architect Walter Gropius himself, the museum showcases the history and legacy of the Bauhaus movement. The building’s simple cubic form, glass facades, and functional interior spaces perfectly embody the principles of the movement. Exploring the museum’s exhibitions is a must for anyone interested in the roots and evolution of Bauhaus design.

The Shore House, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, USA: The Shore House, a private residence located on Martha’s Vineyard, is a stunning example of contemporary Bauhaus-inspired architecture. Designed by architectural firm Leroy Street Studio, the house seamlessly blends modernist principles with its coastal surroundings. Its sleek lines, expansive windows, and integration with the natural landscape create a harmonious and serene living space, showcasing the timelessness and adaptability of Bauhaus design.

Hotel Proverbs Taipei via Ray Chen Plus Partners Architects

Hotel Proverbs, Taipei, Taiwan: Hotel Proverbs in Taipei exemplifies how the Bauhaus style can be interpreted in a contemporary urban context. Designed by Ray Chen, the hotel’s facade is adorned with a grid-like pattern reminiscent of the Bauhaus aesthetic. The interiors feature clean lines, a neutral colour palette, and a careful selection of functional furniture, embodying the Bauhaus emphasis on simplicity and practicality. Hotel Proverbs showcases how Bauhaus design principles can be seamlessly integrated into a modern hospitality setting.

Conclusion: The Bauhaus movement’s influence continues to resonate throughout the world of design and architecture, inspiring contemporary creations that pay homage to its core principles. From the birthplace of the movement in Germany to the bustling streets of Taipei, these hotels, resorts, and residences demonstrate the enduring appeal of the Bauhaus style. By blending functionality with elegance, simplicity with sophistication, and form with purpose, these spaces exemplify the timelessness and versatility of Bauhaus design. Whether you’re a design enthusiast, an architect, or someone looking for design inspiration for your own home, exploring the Bauhaus style can provide a wealth of ideas.

These are just some examples of how Bauhaus-Inspired hotels, resorts & residences can b amazing spaces for hospitality. I hope you enjoyed this week’s edition of Weekend Design Inspirations. Stay tuned for more next week!

De Stijl-Inspired Hotels, Resorts & Residences: Design Inspirations

De Stijl-Inspired Hotels, Resorts & Residences: Design Inspirations

Today we are discussing De Stijl-Inspired hotels, resorts & residences. If you are a design enthusiast or simply appreciate art and architecture, you may have come across the influential art movement known as De Stijl. De Stijl, which means “The Style” in Dutch, was founded in 1917 by a group of artists and architects who advocated for a pure and abstract style of art based on geometric forms and primary colours.

They believed that art could be a means of social and spiritual transformation, and they applied their principles to various media, including painting, sculpture, architecture, furniture, typography and more. De Stijl sought to create a universal visual language through a reduction of form and colour. De Stijl has left an indelible mark on the world of design.

Are you looking for a unique and stylish getaway this weekend? If you love art and design, you might want to check out these amazing hotels, resorts and residences that are inspired by De Stijl, the Dutch art movement that revolutionized modern aesthetics. Some of the most iconic examples of De Stijl architecture are the Rietveld Schröder House in Utrecht, the Netherlands, designed by Gerrit Rietveld in 1924, and the Aubette dance hall in Strasbourg, France, decorated by Theo van Doesburg, Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Jean Arp in 1929. These buildings feature dynamic compositions of rectangular planes, grids of windows, and splashes of red, yellow and blue.

These are just some of the amazing places where you can enjoy De Stijl-inspired design and architecture. Whether you want to relax, explore or learn more about this fascinating art movement, you will surely find something that suits your taste and budget. So don’t wait any longer and book your weekend trip today!

The Mondrian South Beach Hotel in Miami, Florida, USA. Located in the vibrant South Beach area, The Mondrian is a luxurious hotel inspired by the works of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, one of the key figures of the De Stijl movement. The hotel’s interiors feature bold primary colours, minimalist furniture, and geometric patterns that pay homage to Mondrian’s iconic compositions. From the moment you step into the lobby, you are immersed in a world of art and design that reflects the principles of De Stijl. The Mondrian offers a unique and stylish experience for design enthusiasts and art lovers alike. The hotel features a striking black-and-white exterior with yellow accents, a whimsical lobby with oversized furniture and colourful murals, and spacious rooms with stunning views of the bay and the city. The hotel also has a pool, a spa, a restaurant and a nightclub.

– The Art’otel Amsterdam in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This contemporary hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam, near the Central Station and the Anne Frank House. The hotel showcases the works of Atelier Van Lieshout, a Dutch artist collective that explores themes of utopia, dystopia and social critique. The hotel also has a gallery, a library, a lounge, a restaurant and a bar.

РThe Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in Dessau, Germany. This is not exactly a hotel, but rather a historic site where you can book a room in one of the original studio buildings of the Bauhaus School, which was closely related to De Stijl. The Bauhaus School was founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius as an avant-garde institution that combined art, design and architecture. The studio building features minimalist rooms with steel-frame furniture and balconies overlooking the courtyard. The site also has a museum, a workshop, a caf̩ and a shop.
РThe Villa Noailles in Hy̬res, France. This is a stunning example of modernist architecture designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens in 1923 for Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, who were patrons of the arts and friends of many De Stijl artists. The villa has a cubic shape with terraces, gardens and pools. It also hosts various cultural events throughout the year, such as exhibitions, concerts and festivals.
– The Park Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. This luxury hotel offers an artistic twist: each room is decorated by a different Japanese artist with their own style and theme. Some of the rooms that are influenced by De Stijl are: “Lattice” by Aki Narita, which features a geometric pattern of black lines and colourful squares; “Sumo” by Hiroyuki Kimura, which depicts two sumo wrestlers in red and blue; and “Geometric” by Ryosuke Yasumoto, which creates an optical illusion with black-and-white shapes.
– Rietveld Cottage, Utrecht, the Netherlands: Designed by renowned architect Gerrit Rietveld, the Rietveld Cottage in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a prime example of De Stijl architecture. Rietveld, a prominent member of the De Stijl movement, designed the cottage as a weekend retreat for his family. The exterior of the cottage showcases a composition of rectangular volumes, coloured in the iconic De Stijl palette of red, blue, yellow, black, and white. The interior follows the movement’s principles of simplicity, functionality, and a reduction of form. The Rietveld Cottage stands as a testament to the enduring influence of De Stijl in architecture and is a source of inspiration for weekend retreats.

– Van Doesburg House, Meudon, France: The Van Doesburg House, located in Meudon, France, is a significant architectural landmark that exemplifies De Stijl principles. Designed by Dutch artist and architect Theo van Doesburg, the house features a striking composition of intersecting planes and primary colours. The interior spaces are characterized by open floor plans, minimalist furnishings, and a seamless integration of art and design. Visiting the Van Doesburg House allows you to immerse yourself in the world of De Stijl and gain a deeper appreciation for its lasting impact on modern design.
– De Stijl Villa, Amersfoort, the Netherlands: Situated in the birthplace of the De Stijl movement, the De Stijl Villa in Amersfoort, Netherlands, is a contemporary residence that draws inspiration from the movement’s principles. The villa’s design incorporates clean lines, geometric shapes, and a colour palette reminiscent of De Stijl’s artworks. It showcases how De Stijl can be reinterpreted in a modern context, offering a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. Staying at the De Stijl Villa allows guests to experience the essence of De Stijl while enjoying modern comforts and amenities. The interior spaces are thoughtfully designed, incorporating elements of minimalism and functionality, creating a serene and visually appealing environment.
– Mondrian House, Amsterdam, the Netherlands: The Mondrian House in Amsterdam is a museum and guesthouse dedicated to the life and works of Piet Mondrian. The house itself is an architectural gem, designed in the spirit of De Stijl. Visitors can explore the museum’s collection of Mondrian’s paintings and furniture designs, gaining insights into the artist’s creative process and his influence on the De Stijl movement. The guesthouse provides an opportunity to stay in a space inspired by Mondrian’s iconic style, immersing yourself in the world of De Stijl during your weekend getaway.

Mondriaan House Amsterdam | via vice.com

– Van Der Rohe Hotel, Barcelona, Spain: While not directly associated with the De Stijl movement, the Van Der Rohe Hotel in Barcelona draws inspiration from the principles of modernism, which influenced De Stijl. The hotel’s architecture and interior design embrace clean lines, open spaces, and a minimalist aesthetic. The use of primary colours and geometric shapes pays homage to the De Stijl movement and creates a harmonious and visually captivating environment. Staying at the Van Der Rohe Hotel offers a contemporary take on the design inspirations derived from De Stijl.

In conclusion, De Stijl-inspired hotels, resorts, and residences provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of this influential art movement. Whether you choose to stay in a hotel showcasing De Stijl-inspired interiors or visit architectural landmarks designed by prominent De Stijl artists, you can gain a deeper appreciation for the movement’s principles of simplicity, abstraction, and a reduction of form and colour. These design inspirations can serve as a weekend getaway idea for design enthusiasts, art lovers, or anyone seeking a unique and visually stimulating experience.

How To Create a Hybrid Hotel Model that Wows Your Guests: The Ultimate Guide

How To Create a Hybrid Hotel Model that Wows Your Guests: The Ultimate Guide

I’m Bert Bykes, a hospitality consultant, entrepreneur and co-founder of CREATOR’S. In this post, I’m going to spill the beans on how to create a hybrid hotel model that will wow your guests and make your competitors jealous.

What is a hybrid hotel model, you ask? It’s a hotel that combines the best of both worlds: traditional and online hospitality. It means offering your guests both physical and virtual services, flexible pricing and booking options, personalised and automated customer care, and more. It also means boosting your revenue, lowering your costs, and improving your guest satisfaction.

Sounds awesome, right? Well, it is. And I’m going to show you how to do it in 8 easy steps:

  1. Define your target market and value proposition. Who are your dream guests and what do they crave from their stay? How can you blow their minds and offer something unique and valuable to them?
  2. Choose the right technology and platforms. What kind of online services do you want to dazzle your guests? With online check-in and check-out, mobile apps, chatbots and virtual concierge? What kind of technology and platforms do you need to make these services happen? For example, you can choose cloud computing, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and plus other supporting technologies!
  3. Design your physical and virtual spaces. Can you optimise your physical spaces to create a cosy and safe environment for your guests? How can you design your virtual space to create a smooth and engaging online experience for your guests?
  4. Train your staff and partners. How can you prepare your staff and partners to deliver top-notch service in physical and virtual settings? How can you equip them with the necessary skills and tools to handle different situations and requests from your guests?
  5. Implement a flexible pricing and booking strategy. How can you offer different pricing and booking options to suit the different needs and preferences of your guests? How can you use dynamic pricing and yield management techniques to fill up your rooms and increase your revenue?
  6. Create a personalised and automated customer journey. How can you collect and analyse data from your guests to understand their behaviour and preferences? How can you use this data to personalise and automate your service delivery and communication with your guests?
  7. Promote your hybrid hotel model through digital marketing. How can you use digital marketing channels such as social media, email, website, etc. to show off your hybrid hotel model and attract new and repeat guests? How can you utilise online reviews, ratings, and testimonials, to build trust and credibility with your potential guests?
  8. Monitor and evaluate your performance and feedback. How can you measure the success of your hybrid hotel model in terms of revenue, costs, guest satisfaction, etc.? How can you collect and respond to feedback from your guests and improve your service quality and delivery?

These are some of the secrets that I have used to help my happy clients create their hybrid hotel models. Want to learn more, then just get in touch with me at bert@bertbykes.com to learn more!

5 Essential Pillars for Building a Strong and Memorable Brand Identity

CREATOR’S establishment of distinctive strong and memorable brand identities is critical for creating a lasting impression in the minds of your target audience.

These are the top five pillars that we focus on when developing for you a unique brand identity:

To Develop a Brand Strategy: Before we can create a distinctive brand identity, we first develop a brand strategy. This includes your target audience, brand values, key messaging, and competitive analysis. Your brand strategy should provide a roadmap for all branding decisions.

We ensure that the tone, language, and style will best resonate with your target audience.

Design Your Visual Identity: Your visual identity includes your logo, colour palette, typography, and imagery. These elements should visually communicate your brand’s personality, values, and positioning. Choose colours and fonts that are unique, memorable, and reflective of your brand.

Create a Brand Style Guide: Your brand style guide should provide guidelines for how to use your brand identity consistently across all touchpoints, this is from your website to your social media profiles. Your brand style guide should include specifications for logo usage, colour palettes, typography, and imagery.
